Marathon Training Plan

Today, 11/19, Sarad, our trainer for TNT, sent out the marathon training schedule. Looking forward to it!

I'm sort of in the pre-training stages right now. I definitely took some extra rest days after the 10K. It was brutally hot that day and made me not want to think about running! But alas, I'm back in action. I've got the itch and I'm caught in between that place where I want to be resting just enough, but also want to be increasing my stamina. This is my pre-marathon training plan. I will update weekly as I make my progress. 

Pre-Training Plan

Week 1
10/24: 50 minute treadmill run
10/25: x train/ lift
10/26: 5 Intervals (+ 1 mile warm up, +1 mile cool down)
10/27: tennis! (yes, I'm playing tennis on Thursday nights from 7-8 until the end of December - super excited)!
10/28: 40 minute tempo run
10/29 - 10-30: 8 mile run and a rest day. Whichever day it doesn't rain! :)

Week 2
10/31: 4 mile run outside
11/1: x training and 8 minutes on the elliptical
11/2: 50 minute treadmill run
11/3: upper body lift and tennis
11/4: rest
11/5: 45 minute spin class
11/6: rest

Week 3
11/7: 30 min treadmill run w/ sprints
11/8: lift + 45 min spinning class
11/9: 45 min treadmill run
11/10: 1 hr tennis
11/11:  rest
11/12: 6.5 mile run outside
11/13: 1 hr tennis  


Week 4
11/14: 40 mile tempo run
11/15: 45 min spinning class
11/16: 50 min treadmill run
11/17 lift + tennis
11/18: off
11/19: 4 mile run outside
11/20: rest


Week 5
11/21: 40 mile treadmill run
11/22: elliptical + lift
11/23: rest - home for Thanksgiving!
11/24: Port Washington Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot - 5 miler
11/25: lift
11/26: x train
11/27: 6.65 miles outside
